harmful exposures at incidents.
All information is kept on a secure database linked to a Member's membership record. A number of diseases and illnesses have a long latent onset period, so these records could prove vital in assisting with a WorkCover claim many years down the track.
Members can access all the information recorded in their PER file.
LegislationThe Union will also be able to use anonymised raw data about firefighter exposures to assist the UFUA in our push for presumptive cancer legislation. However, no personal details about an individual will be provided to anyone other than that individual.
The PER does not replace the internal Queensland Fire and Rescue Service reporting requirements nor WorkCover injury reporting procedures.
